The central government of India recently revoked the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Malaysia strongly criticized India over this. India took strong action in this position of Malaysia. New Delhi has stopped importing palm oil from Malaysia. This decision has hit the country's economy. In this situation, Pakistan has said that as much palm oil as possible will be imported from Malaysia.
Pakistan was in a frenzy in the international arena over the revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. However, the United States, Russia, Britain and France did not pay much attention to it. China, Pakistan's best friend, also gave up after making several attempts to raise the issue of Kashmir in the UN Security Council. In this situation, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, spoke in favor of Islamabad.
As he has taken a hard-line anti-India stance over the past few months and is openly supporting Pakistan on various issues, including Kashmir. So in retaliation, India stopped buying palm oil from Malaysia and increased palm oil imports from Indonesia. Till last year, India had bought 300,000 tonnes of palm oil from Indonesia. This time it has increased to 6 lakh tons. India buys one-third of the millions of tonnes of palm oil sold by Malaysia in the world.
The country is in dire straits as this main source of foreign exchange earnings is blocked. Malaysia recently said it would not retaliate if India stopped exporting palm oil. Because, they are unable to take retaliation against the huge India. Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has said that Malaysia will not be able to stand against India in the trade war.
In this situation, Imran arrived in Malaysia and met with Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
There, Imran said,India could not accept Malaysia's position on Kashmir. So palm oil has threatened to stop imports. It has come to our notice. We will try our best to buy palm oil from Malaysia.
